German-born, New York-based designer Kai Kühne brought Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Berlin to a razor sharp close Saturday night. One needs to take a very good look at Kühne’s intricate, geometric cuts to figure out how they’re constructed, though his bold, mega-bead jewelry was impossible to miss. Among the highlights: jagged-hem short shorts with sleeveless jackets or leather vests; all manner of little black silk dresses with geometric seaming or cut outs; a skin-tight metallic origami sheath; and a bandage-weave bustier top with a diagonally seamed miniskirt.
Peter Kim's Los Angeles-based premium denim line has always had its finger on the pulse of youth. This season, novelty is back in a way reminiscent of early Aughts, with studs, lace-ups, racing waxed denim and more. "I was driving back on Saturday afternoon from the beach, and I just saw this sign saying 'Skydiving for $95.' And I was like, I can't not sky dive for $95," says Tom Bateman about a moment in Hawaii while shooting "Snatched." #wwdeye (📷: @vsteves; Interview by @ktauer; Styled by @thealexbadia)
