Kappler Appointed CEO at Strenesse

Peter Kappler has been named chief executive officer of the Strenesse fashion house.

BERLIN — Peter Kappler has been named chief executive officer of the Strenesse fashion house.

Kappler, a member of the management board with responsibilities for marketing and international sales, takes over from Gerd Strehle, the company’s majority shareholder. Strehle will become non-executive chairman of Strenesse and remains an adviser to the management and supervisory board.

Creative director Gabriele Strehle will continue in her post, and chief financial officer Marc Höfig will become the second member of the management board.

Kappler joined Strenesse in 2000. He had been director of international sales at Hugo Boss and then co-director of Joop GmbH.

The changing of the guard is the final step in a five-year process in which Strenesse has evolved from a family-run German company to an internationally active fashion house.

Kappler’s entry into the Nordlingen-based firm “was [a] prerequisite to place the operating responsibility into younger hands at any given point in time,” Strehle said in a statement. “After five years of fruitful cooperation, I’m absolutely convinced that Peter Kappler will take the company into a successful future.”
