NEW YORK — Kimora Lee Simmons is apparently looking to add beauty to her list of offerings.
The president and creative director of Baby Phat is reportedly in talks with Coty Inc. to launch a women’s fragrance in spring.
Executives at Coty and Baby Phat could not be reached for comment Thursday, but fashion industry sources said the fragrance will likely be called Prrr, a play on the sexy Baby Phat cat logo.
Sources said the two companies have been in talks for some time. A deal for a Baby Phat fragrance would not be unexpected, since Simmons told WWDBeauty Biz in April, “My whole life is surrounded by beauty, I mean, this is my business. So I just can’t wait for beauty to be a part of Baby Phat.”
Peter Kim's Los Angeles-based premium denim line has always had its finger on the pulse of youth. This season, novelty is back in a way reminiscent of early Aughts, with studs, lace-ups, racing waxed denim and more.
