NEW YORK -- Richard Kramer has been named president of The Leslie Fay Cos.'s Theo Miles Group, the company's better-price omnibus label.
Kramer succeeds Irving Spitalnick, who will resign June 3 from Leslie Fay, a company spokesman said. The spokesman added that the resignation was "a mutual one" and that Spitalnick plans "to take time off before pursuing other opportunities." Spitalnick could not be reached for comment.
Kramer, who starts his new job June 6, will report to Laura H. Pomerantz, executive vice president of Leslie Fay and chairman of Theo Miles.
Kramer joins Leslie Fay from Liz Claiborne's sportswear division, where he was division head of Collection. It could not be learned whether Liz Claiborne has named a replacement.
Kramer's background also includes five years as vice president of sales and merchandising at Bill Kaiserman Rafael, four years with Merona Sport as president of the women's division and four years as a principal of Heartland Co., a manufacturer of men's sportswear.
