NEW YORK — L.F. Brands Inc. said Wednesday it has entered into a licensing agreement with Silver Lake Inc. to produce and distribute the David Warren and D.W. Studio dress lines and the Reggio and Rimini eveningwear brands.

The four labels were acquired by L.F. Brands when it purchased The Warren Apparel Group in 1998. At the time, L.F. Brands was known as The Leslie Fay Co.

Silver Lake, which specializes in eveningwear, dresses and suits, is owned by Simon Lam and produces brands including Gigi Apparel, Gigi Silk Originals, Bill Bill Blass and Blassport, the latter two produced by the affiliated BBS International Inc. under license from Bill Blass.

New merchandise produced by Silver Lake will begin shipping in October with the Rimini resort collection, while the spring collections of the other three brands will begin in January.

L.F. Brands said in a statement that Silver Lake would hire all key sales, merchandising and design personnel from each of the four brands.

Several attempts to reach L.F. Brands chief executive officer, W. John Short, were unsuccessful.
