Spacesuits fortunately didn’t make an appearance in Laurèl’s Moon Walk-entitled collection. Instead, designer Elisabeth Schwaiger demonstrated that metallic leather cigarette pants, silver fox-fur jackets and shiny jersey make for more stylish shuttle wear. The collection was brought down to earth with some very flattering daywear in bright red, lilac, fuchsia and royal blue. The tailored items were the highlight: A sharp-cut white bolero jacket was paired with mannish pants with a front crease, while the popular black-and-white trend was referenced in a color-blocked blazer with matching pants. Floor-length silk evening gowns in tangerine and coral were lifted by delicate rouche detailing and a range of sparkly, figure-hugging sequined dresses.
