Amy Molyneaux and Percy Parker, the design duo behind the British fashion label PPQ, have just added personalized panties to their current collection. Originally designed as a thank-you for loyal fashion editors, the novelty panties sell for $70 a pair (one pink, one navy blue) with the wearer’s name embroidered in white. Jade Jagger is among a circle of celebrities to have picked up a pair. PPQ, headquartered in London, is planning a full underwear line for spring 2003. Set up in 1992 as a cooperative of friends, working in the fields of art, fashion and music, PPQ boasts a ready-to-wear collection, record label and artwork. Their first fashion collection was launched in spring 2000, and has sales of $1.5 million. PPQ artwork has exhibited alongside works by Gary Hume and Sam Taylor-Wood, and is also part of the Saatchi private collection. The panties are available by phone order only, although the PPQ line can be found at Selfridges, Henri Bendel in New York and the Shine boutique in Paris.
