That’s what I saw in the exciting Spring 2014 collections on view at the recent shows in London, Florence, Milan, and Paris. You say that men prefer the safety of solids? Well, the new collections, offering up a range of vibrant floral patterns, say no. What about the straight, crisp tailoring that has characterized wardrobes of the last decade? Say good-bye to all that as well—the latest clothes allow for considerable freedom of movement. Catwalk-ready athletic ensembles and somber hues meant for summertime round out a season aimed at men who are not afraid of fashion anymore.
