The Las Vegas trade show is adding a new section dedicated to textiles for its next edition. Fabric@MAGIC will make its first appearance at the show opening Aug. 25, in the North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center, next to the Sourcing Zone. The fabric section is planned to cover approximately 10,000 square feet and include about 100 exhibitors offering wovens, knits, leather, trim, embroidery and trend-forecasting services.
“The time is right,” said Chris Cho of Popular Textile Corp., a domestic mill and dye house that will exhibit at the show. “Buyers are sourcing fabric before the design phase of the garment. It benefits both industries to source garments and textiles in one place.”
According to MAGIC, initial participants in the event will include the Istanbul Textile and Apparel Exporters’ Association, Unifi Inc., Caldelle, Carolina Cotton Works, Deveaux SA, Polymas Switzerland and Popular Textile.
Show management, which planned the new section to complement the sourcing section, is promoting Fabric@MAGIC as a show that will give its exhibitors exposure to a variety of channels ranging from designers through sourcing managers to private label buyers. Overall, the MAGIC show attracts 80,000 attendees from 80 countries and represents 3,000 apparel and accessory companies, as well as 5,000 brands.
