Though piling on was the order of the day at the designer’s main line, Marc by Marc Jacobs displayed a savvy paring down, a shift from fall’s brooding art student attitude.
Here, latter-day flappers, Mods and bobby-soxers avoided excess retro thanks to that ever-present touch of grunge.
And though Jacobs emphasized dresses, he still provided plenty of those adorable separates for girls who think of fashion as a puzzle with pieces that can be rejiggered into countless different pictures depending upon one’s mood.
