SETTING THE LINEUP: Kellwood Co.’s licensed Liz Claiborne dresses and suits division has formed its management and design team.

On the business side, Lou Eaccarino, formerly president of Tahari Suits, will serve as executive vice president; Lynne Rousso, previously vice president divisional merchandise manager for dresses at May Merchandising Co., will be director of product development and sourcing, and Eric Schwartz, formerly Kasper Suit account executive, will be national sales manager of suits.
In addition, Bonnie Brownfield has joined the team as suit designer and Lisa Tracy will design dresses. Brownfield was formerly the head designer for Earth Song and Tracy previously headed design at Expo.
BUDDING DESIGNERS: Seniors in the fashion design department at the Fashion Institute of Technology will send looks onto the runway in seven categories at the annual student fashion show on Thursday. The categories include children’s wear, current scene, knitwear, eveningwear, intimate apparel, sportswear and tailored garments.
Eveningwear will be influenced by birds of paradise, which means brightly colored gowns and feather details, according to an FIT spokeswoman.
David Dalrymple of House of Field, Nanette Lepore and B. Michael are some of the guest critics that will present a student with a “Critic Award” at the show.
CLEAN FASHION: The Madison Avenue Business Improvement District is giving the trendsetting brands that line Madison Avenue a run for their money. Or is it the other way around? In addition to a new logo, the Madison Avenue BID has begun outfitting its sanitation workers in black unisuits that sport the new red and gray logo. For the warmer months, the suits are light gray. In true dress-for-success style, the Madison Avenue BID has consistently received a 100 percent score for sanitation from the mayor’s office.
