GENTRY’S U.S. EMBRACE: The Portofino, Italy-based cashmere house Gentryportofino has hired Kelly Stinnett as its new vice president, as the company looks to expand its U.S. distribution — it is currently only sold by specialty retailers. Prior to joining the company, which is owned by IT Holding, Stinnett was executive director of sales at Michael Kors. Gentryportofino has also signed French actress Juliette Binoche as its new spokesmodel for its first national campaign running in September and October issues of Vogue and W.

ENTER NAPOLEONE: Novum Fashion International, the two-year-old showroom started by former Louis Féraud president Suzanne Neckerman and her husband, Alexander Meder, has added Italian contemporary label Napoleone to its roster. The the spring 2003 collection features coordinated pants, skirts and tops and wholesales for $70 to $90. The Novum showroom carries five lines altogether, including knitwear line Richard Bruce, which it picked up last season.
