THE WHITE STUFF: BFF Bridal's new guide due out in September will not be laden with such superlatives as the "Best Wedding Planner" or "Best Florist." Readers of the "Best of Bridal Guide 2008" will find the "Best Sheer Lip Gloss That Lasts," the "Best Registry Return Policy," the "Best Way to Get Your Announcement in The Times." BFF Bridal founders Tara Mandy and Meredith Levy cooked up the idea to give brides tips about start-to-finish wedding planning with the digital issue that subscribers can download at Mandy, a New York magazine contributor, and Levy, a trend forecaster and consultant for luxury brands, started their online business last year.

The guide's Beauty and Style section will include such picks as "Best Beachy Bridesmaids Dresses" and "Best No-See-Um Panties." In addition to travel tips, there will be a major fashion component in the Wedding Night and Honeymoons section, i.e., "Best Something to Slip Into" and "Best Status Shades."

Another first for Mandy and Levy is the Sept. 25 event they are pulling together at the St. Regis Hotel in New York to showcase select brands featured in the guide — 20 will be the limit. Models will show off the latest bridal, bridesmaid and groom attire, and a retailer may set up a pop-up shop, Mandy said.

Attendance for brides-to-be will also be capped off at 100. Those who make the cut will take home a limited edition, soft-covered copy of the guide, which will also be distributed to bridal magazine editors, bloggers and standouts in the New York wedding scene, including Vera Wang and Serena Bass.

As of this week, BFF Bridal is soliciting sponsorships for the guide's categories.
