TOASTING WILSON: Fred Wilson, chairman and chief executive officer of Saks Fifth Avenue, will be honored by the Parsons School of Design at its 57th annual benefit and fashion show.
Saks and Wilson have been long-standing supporters of the school and its alumni. The May 9 event will be held at Pier 60 at Chelsea Piers. This year’s dinner chairs are Michael Kors; John Idol, ceo of Michael Kors; François Kress, managing director of the Americas for Bulgari, and Terry Lundgren, chairman and ceo of Federated Department Stores.
WASH AND DRY: Bagir Ltd., a private label resource for tailored clothing, has introduced women’s and men’s wool blend suits that can handle washing machines and dryers. While developing it, Bagir researchers washed and dried the suits 30 times. This spring, the new product is being offered in major stores in the U.S. and Europe.
BOOK THEM: Spring has sprung, but Soulis Furs’ marketing director Makis Gioras already is thinking about fall. To rev up retailers that carry his collection, he recently sent them copies of Donald Trump’s book, “Think Like a Billionaire.”
