Special events at the women's and children's fall II/holiday market at the Chicago Apparel Center, June 3-7, include three fashion shows.
Guest designer NR1 will headline the New Directions show in the ballroom, Saturday June 4 at 6:30 p.m. An accessories presentation will be held in the conference center Sunday, June 5 at 8:30 a.m. Dresses will be featured on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. in the ballroom.
LaRhea Pepper, who specializes in organic cotton products, will present a seminar on environment-friendly clothing on June 5 at 2 p.m. on the 10th floor.
Other seminars include computerizing retail businesses on Saturday June 4 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on the 9th floor, as well as a session on customer service on June 6 from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. in the second floor conference center.
A Stella McCartney sketch of a custom dress made from protein-based silk in partnership with biotech lab Bolt Threads. The dress will be displayed at The Museum of Modern Art's upcoming design exhibition, "Items: Is Fashion Modern?"
