LOS ANGELES — The California Market Center celebrated opening night of the holiday-resort market last Friday with a fashion presentation and cocktail party saluting the city’s leading Latino designers.
Estevan Ramos, Alicia Lawhon, Alan Del Rosario, Eduardo Lucero, Cynthia Vincent, Freddie Rojas and Tova Celine were all on hand with a sampling of their latest collections.
“There’s such a strong Latin influence in Los Angeles, and we’ve all been so busy, so it’s great to see my friends,” said Rojas.
A festive atmosphere permeated the mart’s patio as buyers mingled with showroom representatives, while local Latin jazz artist Johnny Polanco and his band kicked up the music. “I’m just glad to be able to have a cocktail in the afternoon — I never get a break,” said Lucero, who shortly thereafter impressed the crowd with his salsa moves.
