For a high-concept idea man like Martin Margiela, no collection would be complete without a handful of looks that leave the audience scratching their heads in confusion.
This outing, they included trousers so long they dragged two yards behind on the floor, a dress vertically covering half the body and one-legged trousers. But Margiela visited more than wacky land with this showing, which played with a linebacker-like shoulder silhouette and plenty of body-hugging sexy flesh-colored tops that proved this Belgian has a nose for the trends.
Chic even popped up its head in high-waisted trousers and impeccably cut tailored jackets. Capes were another statement, as were the star prints and patterns that rounded out Margiela’s fine effort.
