MILAN — Not only does the latest Maserati GranTurismo Coupé offer more than 400 horsepower, innovative Pininfarina design and four-seat comfort — it comes accessorized with a set of suitcases and bags exclusively made by Salvatore Ferragamo.
The Florentine luxury goods house has signed a two-year comarketing agreement with the historical automaker and will produce five unisex made-to-order leather pieces to perfectly fit the trunk of the new Maserati, which was unveiled at Geneva’s international car salon on Monday night.
The exclusive travel set is made up of a suitcase, a weekend bag, a beauty case, a garment bag and a shoe case that doubles as a duffel bag. The set, inspired by the car’s front radiator cowling and designed by Ferragamo’s men’s wear designer, Massimiliano Giornetti, will be available in two materials and four colors.
One set, named Firenze (or Florence), will be made of a special hand-treated calf in blackamoor or Maserati’s iconic blue, and will retail at 7,350 euros, or $9,621 at current exchange rates.
The other, named Modena (the city where Maserati is based) will be made with a sportier, more natural-looking, scratch-resistant calf hide. It will be available in black or eggplant, with contrasting stitches, and will retail for 6,850 euros, or $8,966.
