NEW YORK — The executive ranks of Gianni Versace SpA underwent more changes on Monday, with a new commercial director announced in Milan, as the head of its U.S. division resigned to join Oscar de la Renta Ltd. as chief financial officer.
From its Milan offices, Gianni Versace said it has named Loredana Nastro as commercial director, the latest in a string of changes as new chief executive officer Giancarlo Di Risio assembles his team. Nastro succeeds Gabriella Di Carlo, who is leaving the company after just a few months in that position.
Nastro served as commercial director at Valentino and Emilio Pucci before joining Versace. Last month, Versace tapped Laura Manelli as director of worldwide retail and Francesca Leoni as manager of store planning.
In New York, Giuseppe Celio, who was ceo of retail and wholesale for Gianni Versace USA, left to join de la Renta as cfo, filling the vacancy left when Rachel Barnett moved to Perry Ellis International in July.
Celio has headed the U.S. Versace division since 1998 and was cfo of the retail subsidiary. At de la Renta, where he is expected to begin by Dec. 1, Celio will report to ceo Alex Bolen.
“His background at Versace has really been in finance, in addition to a lot of operating issues that are relevant to the things we’re going to need to focus on as we continue to grow, both in terms of distribution and logistics,” said Bolen, noting that the Oscar de la Renta company is in the midst of growing its U.S. wholesale business.
A spokesman for Versace said a replacement for Celio has not yet been identified.
