NEW YORK — “A lot of women think they can pick out what someone is all about based on what shoes they wear,” said Moss Lipow, explaining the importance of a person’s accessories. “But you wear your glasses on your face. No one has thought of eyeglasses as a chance to proclaim for the world their individuality.”

So Lipow has nominated himself. He’s already a minor celebrity in stylist circles as an amateur historian and omnivorous collector of vintage glasses that he has lent to shoots for Italian Vogue, L’Officiel, Spin, WWD’s sister magazine, W, and others. “It’s like the Library of Congress of eyewear,” said Flaunt fashion editor Marcus Steptoe.
