Dermatologist Fredric Brandt has developed Liquid Skin, a cream he hopes consumers will incorporate into their evening beauty routines.

Launched last month, Dr. Brandt's Liquid Skin preps the skin for a nightly beauty regimen, allowing other products to function at their maximum potential. The cream delivers proteins and nutrients that restore moisture to the skin.

"The cream reconstitutes the skin's epidermis…to improve the overall well-being of the skin," said Brandt.

Designed to be applied to cleansed skin before other night creams, the formula is infused with lipids and seven amino acids designed to repair aging skin. Lipids help maintain moisture and firmness in the skin, while amino acids repair damaged tissues, stimulating cell regeneration in stress-affected skin. The active ingredients also are designed to restore balance to cell metabolism, raising the skin's oxygen, nutrient and energy supplies. Retailing for $70, Liquid Skin is sold in Henri Bendel, Nordstrom and Sephora, as well as other specialty boutiques. The cream is also available online at and

Industry sources estimated that Liquid Skin would generate over $1 million in first-year retail sales.

The seven-year-old line has 37 products that are sold in 33 countries, and recently was launched in Japan and Beijing. The brand plans to expand its presence in spas early next year.
