NEW YORK — Mindy Grossman has stepped down as global vice president of apparel at Nike Inc. to become chief executive officer of retailing at IAC/InterActiveCorp, which is headed by Barry Diller, chairman and chief executive officer.
Grossman is being replaced at Nike by Roger Wyett, 49. Wyatt has more than 25 years in the apparel industry at firms such as Puma and Walt Disney Co. He first joined Nike in 1994 and held a number of key posts at the company. He left in 2000, only to rejoin Nike in 2005 as president and chief operating officer of Hurley International.
Under Grossman’s direction, Nike’s global apparel sales have risen dramatically in recent years, and reached $3.9 billion in 2005, or about 32 percent of total Nike brand revenues. Grossman, who headed up Polo Jeans before joining Nike in 2000, has spearheaded the company’s aggressive expansion of its women’s products in recent years and is credited with helping the company become more fashion forward.
