NEW YORK — Robert Alderman, president of textile firm Ce Soir N.Y. Inc., died of a heart attack Friday. He was 56.

Alderman began his career on Seventh Avenue in 1976 with Silverman Products & Textiles, where he worked his way up to the position of president of the evening division. In 1996, he founded the textile firm Ce Soir N.Y. with business partner Celia Morrissette. The company specializes in textiles geared toward eveningwear, such as brocades and other novelty fabrics.
He is survived by his wife, Mancie; a daughter, Darra, and two sons, Bryan and Todd.
