NEW YORK — Merwyn A. “Rusty” Kraft, a 30-year veteran of the intimate apparel industry, died Monday of lung cancer at his home in Elmhurst, Ill. He was 67.
Kraft held various marketing and management positions at The Warnaco Group, Formfit Rogers and International Playtex. He served as chief executive officer of Wacoal America from 1985 to 1993, where he launched the licensed Donna Karan Intimates collection. Before retiring in late 2003, he served as a financial adviser to several private clients.
Lisa Kraft, his ex-wife, said he will be cremated and his ashes will be scattered near Candlewood Lake in Connecticut, where he formerly lived. Memorial services will be private, she said.
Merwyn Kraft is survived by his daughters, Dana and Julie, and two brothers, William and Gary.
