DESIGNER RUGS: The Rug Co., which opened its first U.S. store at 88 Wooster Street in New York Thursday, makes a new case for the synergy between home and fashion.
Located in the former YSL Rive Gauche men’s boutique, the 1,500-square-foot, gallerylike space showcases rugs handspun with Tibetan wool and silk by fashion designers such as Paul Smith; Marni’s Consuelo Castiglione; accessories designers Lulu Guinness and Bill Amberg, and British Vogue fashion director Lucinda Chambers. The firm manufactures these collections exclusively through licensing agreements.
"I think that all anyone really wants in life is to have people understand us for who we actually are, despite everything," says Ruth Negga. The actress talks "Preachers" season 2 and more on WWD.com. #wwdeye (📷: Dan Doperalski)
"That's something that resonates with me too because I'm so locked into a number. If I go over that number it completely ruins my day so it's nice to get detached from the number on the scale." - Chelsea Handler on Kelly LeVeque's book "Body Love." #wwdeye (📷: John Salangsang)
