Donna Karan is multitasking. This week she’s introducing her pre-fall collection, not to mention relaunching handbags, a lineup of supple leathers and exotic skins, after a three-year absence. Regarding the clothes, Karan says she sought a “fashion reality check. They’re real fashion, but easy to wear.” Here, her voluminous silk and elastane dress worn with an oversize rabbit-fur hat.
Into the woods. Donna Karan looked to nature, toying with the shadow effects of the forest, for her pre-fall collection. The outcome: layers of sheer fabrics for dresses, softly tailored suits and effortlessly luxurious furs — all with a laid-back yet poetic sensibility.
