Opening Ceremony turned to its close relationship with Spike Jonze as inspiration for its fall men’s collection.
“This collection is a celebration of photography,” said founder Humberto Leon, adding that while Jonze might be best known as a director, he was — and continues to be — a prolific photographer. It was these images, most of which have never been seen in public, that Leon and his partner Carol Lim used on everything from structured outerwear to loose-fitting pants, employing motion blur techniques, digital prints on jacquards and sequenced shots from Jonze’s archives.
The duo also created a capsule with Kodak, where the brand’s logo was translated into bold graphics on T-shirts, jerseys and fleece separates.
Silhouettes were slightly elongated this season and the color palette was mainly neutral.
All in all, the offering was on trend and fashionable enough to appeal to the brand’s rabid fans.
