LONDON -- Rifat Ozbek is moving his runway show to Paris this season after five seasons of showing in Milan.
The London-based designer, whose line is produced and distributed by Aeffe of Milan, will show at the Carrousel de Louvre on March 4.
Ozbek said he only made the decision to switch in the last three days. "It was very spontaneous," he said. "I felt it was time for a change. It is every designer's dream to show in Paris and I decided now was the time. I'm confident in the collection for next season and thought that if I didn't do it now I never would."
The 39-year-old designer said he doesn't feel any extra pressure now that he will show in Paris. "I always knew I would make the move some time, but I think it was better than I didn't go right there from London," said Ozbek.
Ozbek isn't abandoning Milan entirely. He will hold daily presentations in his showroom there during the Milan shows.
