Designers’ distinct visions are coming through in their resort collections, starting with Giorgio Armani’s lineup, which “evokes sport luxe geared to a cosmopolitan woman,” as he puts it. He plays up a longtime favorite — pants — offering wide-leg, cropped and tapered versions, all with a fluid ease. Jonathan Saunders brings a light and airy approach to the season with dresses in vibrant Murano glass prints. Meanwhile, VPL’s Victoria Bartlett continues to show her penchant for underwear as ready-to-wear, but she’s taking things slouchier and less overt, as in a bra-top dress. She also favors hybrid looks such as a metallic cardigan-cum-jacket.
