Color-blocking, graphic elements and asymmetric cuts prevailed at Paper London’s debut MBFWB show, presented by German Elle. The British label’s creative director, Kelly Townsend, was a knitwear designer for Temperley for several years, and her experience was clear in the intarsia sweaters and ribbed turtleneck dresses that topped sheer long skirts and cropped full or tailored trousers. Video collages featuring Mickey Mouse were projected behind the runway; on the catwalk, the famous rodent’s ears were referenced in the double-circle bodice of a strapless shift, while pixel-square cutouts popped on black over white.
