NEW YORK — Patricia Field is shrinking.Despite her "Sex and the City" success, the maven of club couture has closed her eponymous store on East 8th Street after 36 years of business. Field’s other store, Hotel Venus at 382 West Broadway, will be renamed Patricia Field."She has decided that it’s better to put it all under one roof due to the economy and the landlord of her building," said a spokesman for Field.Juggling two retail establishments downtown, along with Field’s efforts to bolster the brand, also contributed to her decision, according to a company statement. The West Broadway store’s decor is being revamped and will carry not only the David Dalrymple designed House of Field label, but also new and established designers. A clearance sale is being held at Hotel Venus this week in order to make room for new merchandise. Field has enjoyed considerable renown for her role as costume designer for HBO’s "Sex and the City" and won an Emmy Award this year for her work on the series.

For @ralphlauren, 2018 is a reason to celebrate: It marks the brand’s 50th year in business. Last year’s chauffeured show in Bedford, NY featuring his vintage car collection may have seemed like the big celebration to show-goers, but they were wrong. The official celebration will be held on September 7 during #NYFW. Get all the details on WWD.com. #wwdfashion (📷: @giovanni_giannoni_photo)
