Johanna Perret and Tutia Schaad never met a straight line they didn’t slant, and for fall the duo was once again all about asymmetry. Gleaming silks fell across the body, formed into sleeveless dresses with seaming detail and skirts slashed from midhip to calf. Curves were cocooned in cashmere coats and a billowing pewter rain jacket, while tunnel waists and cuffs helped puff bomber jackets. Stormy shades of blue and gray furthered the dusky feeling, while touches of dusty rose provided a glimpse of dawn. A rare print based on folded painted paper from artist Peter Jap Lim provided interest on silks. Perret Schaad’s suits and separates seemingly aimed at the edgy office girl dipped occasionally into the dowdy. All in all, the looks were pretty but expected.
