Perry Ellis International has signed a licensing agreement with Parigi Group Ltd. for boys’ and girls’ casual sportswear, activewear and swim for sizes newborn to 20 in the U.S. and Canada under the Perry Ellis and Original Penguin names. LF U.S.A. Inc. will continue to be the licensee for Perry Ellis Portfolio boys’ dress wear.
The new collections will be targeted to better department stores, with Original Penguin launching for spring 2015 and Perry Ellis for back-to-school 2015.
“We are excited to work with Parigi Group and to extend the reach of our global portfolio of lifestyle brands,” said George Feldenkreis, chairman and chief executive officer of PEI. “The addition of children’s apparel reflects our diversification strategy, which enables Perry Ellis International to leverage its brand lifestyles across categories and channels to drive further growth and profitability.”
Marco Srour, owner, ceo and president of Parigi Group, called Perry Ellis and Original Penguin “two distinct, iconic lifestyle brands in children’s apparel. Be it updated Americana or vintage preppy, each possesses a rich heritage in fashion and quality. Our company looks forward to working closely together with PEI, ensuring their unique attributes are successfully interpreted in kids, while securing a strong footprint with department stores and specialty stores nationwide.”
