For Philomena Zanetti’s debut at Berlin Fashion Week, designer Julia Leifert translated references to the rugged Irish countryside into minimal separates that will play well in an urban environment. The line is also environmentally conscious: Everything is vegan-friendly and ecologically sustainable. The Gaelic theme was most obvious in the color parings — a dark green single-breasted coat worn over a flint gray button-down shirt — and oversize fuzzy turtlenecks. A spare, green cotton shirt and pants combination skewed gender-neutral, while slinky racer back singlets felt more feminine. “It’s all about contrast,” said Leifert. “I like to mix stronger and softer fabrics, and also masculine and feminine pieces.”
