Phebe Farrow Port, the acting general manager of the brand for two years, is passing the makeup case to her second-in-command, Claudia Poccia, who will assume the title of senior vice president and general manager of Stila North America. Port, who in addition to running Stila for the past few years has also overseen several internal management development programs for Stila’s parent, The Estée Lauder Cos., will assume the title of vice president of corporate management development. Joellen Bradford will remain the international vice president and general manager of Stila.

The management shift is effective Jan. 15.

Stila, the Los Angeles-based makeup artist brand founded in 1994 by makeup artist Jeanine Lobell — who remains active with the brand and holds the title of founder and president — was acquired by Lauder in 1999. Under Port’s watch, the brand had opened two freestanding boutiques in California — with a third coming this spring at South Coast Plaza —?as well as expanding the brand’s distribution in the U.S. and abroad. Stila is currently available in 229 doors in the U.S. and in 17 international markets, as well as at sephora.com and gloss.com.

Poccia, who will be based in Los Angeles, previously served as vice president of sales and education for Stila, a title she assumed in 2000. She joined The Estée Lauder Cos. in 1994 and served in several roles on the Estée Lauder brand, including vice president of business development. In this role, Poccia will report to Dan Brestle, group president of The Estée Lauder Cos., and Lobell.

“I couldn’t be more delighted to welcome Claudia to this role,” Brestle said. “She is an ideal person to serve as general manager for Stila. She has extensive retail experience, as well as the talent to motivate and lead the Stila team. And she and Jeanine understand each other.”
