Political Fashion: Brightening Up for Daytime Television

From now through the election, WWD will weigh in periodically on the sartorial selections of Michelle Obama, Ann Romney, Jill Biden and Janna Ryan.

They may be on opposite sides of the political spectrum, but both Ann Romney and Michelle Obama had fun with the color spectrum this weekend, amping up their looks with poppy, flamboyant print dresses for their respective daytime television appearances (Romney on “Live With Kelly and Michael,” Obama on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”).


Tory Burch print dress: Cut in a clean silhouette, Obama’s vibrantly printed frock retains a youthful polish.


Silk print dress: Romney’s look, a brashly-hued floral print silk dress, veered more toward Lisa Frank than First Lady.
