Though their sparring husbands threw barbs and zingers at one another all night, Michelle Obama and Ann Romney kept things light and bright in their fashion choices last Thursday at the first presidential debate. Romney looked radiant in a simple skirt suit by Alfred Fiandaca while Obama went with a youthful, yet tailored, Preen look.

MICHELLE OBAMA

Preen dress and jacket: The splashy hue complemented Mrs. Obama’s complexion with the sliver of geometric print adding a graphic edge to the look.

ANN ROMNEY

Alfred Fiandaca cream skirt suit: Romney kept it classic, clean and elegant. The two strands of pearls drove the point home.
