NEW YORK — Don Baum will join Polo Ralph Lauren Corp. on Nov. 3 as senior vice president of global manufacturing.

Most recently, Baum served as vice president and group manufacturing director at Liz Claiborne Brands. During his nine-year tenure with the company, he spearheaded the initiative to reduce cycle time and consolidate the production of five brands into a single manufacturing entity.

Earlier in his career, he held production posts with Go Silk and Manhattan Industries.

At Polo, he will report to Doug Williams, group president, and succeed Frank Attwood, who has left the firm.Williams oversees domestic wholesale business, global licensing and global manufacturing

Roger Farah, president and chief operating officer, said in a statement that Baum’s “proven track record in managing a global manufacturing operation, coupled with his 25 years of experience in producing men’s and women’s apparel will be of great value as we continue to develop our global manufacturing capabilities in the United States, Asia and Europe.”
