LONDON - Polo Ralph Lauren and Compagnie Financiere Richemont have joined forces to create a luxury watch and jewelry company with its sights set on the American market.
On Monday, the companies unveiled a 50-50, Switzerland-based joint venture, The Polo Ralph Lauren Watch and Jewellery Company S.A.R.L., that will design, create, and distribute luxury watches and fine jewelery through Ralph Lauren stores and other retailers worldwide.
The first products will launch in fall 2008, and both companies said they see much potential in the U.S. market.
