TV’s leading ladies weren’t playing it demure Sunday night when it came to accessories, although they did share a penchant for pretty things. From Allison Janney’s yellow-gold cuffs by Lorraine Schwartz to Leslie Hope’s gray pearl starfish broach by Martin Katz, most actresses went the extra mile with eclectic finds.

Kristin Davis bared a series of vintage brooches down the front of her custom Badgley Mischka. “I won’t take any credit for this dress. Neil Lane and Badgley Mischka came up with this,” she said. “They went back in the archives and researched this very well.”
There was, in fact, plenty more Lane at the Emmys, including a beaded bag carried by Lauren Ambrose as well as plenty of estate jewelry. Similarly, there were hefty, one-of-a-kind, antique pieces from Fred Leighton and Tony Duquette.
Fortunately, makeup and hair didn’t try to compete. Soft, loose styles kept those glamour gowns in the spotlight. And barely there lip color and a slightly strong eye gave the vintage-looking dresses a fresher edge.
