NEW YORK — Trying to create more buzz about its brands, Puig Fashion North America plans to open a showroom in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District this fall and has named Kimberly Flaster as vice president of communications. She was previously director of communications for Carolina Herrera.
Puig Beauty & Fashion Group owns Paco Rabanne, Nina Ricci and Carolina Herrera, as well as institutional funds and private equity companies.
Flaster will oversee public relations for Nina Ricci, Paco Rabanne and CH Carolina Herrera, the designer’s secondary label. Those names were previously handled by outside sources.
Flaster will set up a showroom for Puig Fashion North America at 601 West 26th Street in September. Getting the news out about CH Carolina Herrera’s new stores will be a priority. Stores recently opened in Coral Gables, Fla., and Manhasset, N.Y., and locations in Las Vegas and Houston will bow before the end of the year. Another shop is scheduled to debut in the Westchester Mall in White Plains, N.Y., next year.
Ward Simmons has been hired to replace Flaster as Carolina Herrera’s director of communications. Most recently, he was director of flagship stores for J. Crew.
