For the second season, Ralph Lauren gave an accessories preview at his Madison Avenue flagship on Wednesday, dropping a big hint of what’s to come down his runway today. For fall, think Deco à la “The Artist,” with luxe architectural pieces that included a beaded velvet evening bag, gauntlet-style gloves in silver and gold metallic colorblocking, and suede booties with gold filigree heels and crystal embellishments. A snake motif also prevailed, making a chic statement as a buckle on a double-wrapped belt, and decorating the chain of a gold evening case. A new attaché bag was shown in black or fuchsia alligator, while brown croc bags and booties featuring fur and men’s wear elements made for opulent day accoutrements.
