NEW YORK -- A spokesman for Carolyn Roehm said Wednesday that the designer is "taking a respite" from her business.
He declined to elaborate further.
Roehm's latest endeavor was a joint venture with Saks Fifth Avenue, which produced a holiday catalog -- a 30-page edition with apparel, accessories and gifts -- and also included in-store shops at Saks stores here, in San Francisco and in Palm Beach, Fla.
A Saks spokeswoman said Tuesday, as reported in these columns Wednesday, that the designer's venture with the store was on hold and there were no commitments to go forward.
Roehm, who had her own collection on SA for six years until she closed it in September 1991, started her catalog business last February. She produced two catalogs by herself before teaming with Saks.
Alberta Ferretti's "Rainbow Week" sweaters are back. The designer closed her #MFW show with a few day-of-the-week sweaters, which first debuted on the catwalk last January as part of the pre-fall 2017 collection. #wwdfashion (📷: @delphineachard)
