NEW YORK — Wrangler is ready to prove that its jeans are good for more than just riding horses.

That’s why the Greensboro, N.C.-based denim house introduced them at the Black Hills Motorcycle Rally. The company showed these members of the Harley Owners Group the new Wrangler ad campaign, which draws a connection between equine enthusiasts and motorcycle devotees. The slogan is “Horse or Hog — There is No Better Jean on the Planet for Riding.” It addresses the idea that the same principles that make a pair of jeans great for riding horses can be applied to riding a motorcycle.

It points out that the Wrangler riding jeans have pockets placed higher so riders do not sit on their wallets, reversed seams to prevent chafing while in the saddle or seat, extra room in the thigh and knee and flat copper rivets to protect the saddle or seat. The jeans also have longer length to keep boots covered while riding, and durable, thicker denim for long rides.

“Wrangler has a long, successful history of building brand equity and loyalty among key consumers,” Phil McAdams, president of Wrangler Western Wear, said in a statement. “When we compared the requirements for making a superior rodeo jean to those for top-quality motorcycle-riding apparel, we found undeniable similarities.”
