Allegri and Saks Fifth Avenue are doing their part to encourage the next generation of fashion designers.

Under a program instituted by the Italian fashion brand, students from the High School of Fashion Industries created a collection of men’s and women’s bags that include a hybrid weekender, a day clutch, a laptop case and an urban backpack.

Allegri produced a limited collection of the winning designs, which are on display in the windows of Saks Fifth Avenue through Oct. 26. During that time, Allegri will donate 15 percent of the proceeds from any sales to the high school.

On Tuesday night, Saks hosted a party in its sixth floor men’s department to honor the winning students. It was hosted by supermodel Michelle Alves.

Last year, Allegri sponsored an April Showers design competition at the school where students designed rain boots and umbrellas.
