Thirty nations have reported cases of SARS since the World Health Organization first reported the discovery of the disease in March. While the disease can be deadly, it is not that widespread, and so far has been largely confined to people who have traveled to areas with significant outbreaks, like China, their immediate families and health-care workers. As of Saturday, 623 of the 7,761 who had contracted the disease worldwide had died and 3,674 had recovered.
