WHERE'S RALPH?: After going back and forth, Ralph Lauren decided not to include his hot, lower-priced Ralph collection on the runway Tuesday. "As a rule we've only shown Collection on the runway. Last season we showed them together because it was the launch of Ralph," a Lauren spokeswoman said.
"It was a creative decision," she continued. "We felt both lines stood on their own. The Collection had its own progression and told its own story." Meanwhile, Ralph opened last month and has had strong sales. "It's been sold up and sold out," said Stuart Kreisler, a consultant to Lauren Womenswear.
BALI BOUND: On Friday, after the collections are over, Amber Valetta is heading to Bali, but not for a typical post-show vacation -- it's her honeymoon. The model married photographer Herv Lebihan in New Orleans last week. The newlyweds were at Club USA the other night, showing off their rings.
CULTURE CLASH: Sources say the sale of Calvin Klein's jeans business to Rio Sportswear could be unhinging, due to a personality clash between the designer and Arnold Simon, president of Rio. "They're from different cultures," said one source, referring to Klein and Simon. "No comment," said a spokeswoman for Calvin Klein. Simon didn't return a phone call Tuesday.
UNDER THE BIG TOP: Will Regan and David Rabin are back. The club duo that for several years hosted the end-of-fashion-week party at Rex have reawakened the end-of-shows fete. But it's moved uptown -- to the Gertrude Pavilion -- and is taking place tonight, at 11 p.m. Regan and Rabin, who left New York to open a club in Moscow, have enlisted Gail Elliot, Helena Christensen, Beverly Peele and Tasha to help pull in the crowd. The pair are planning to make this a seasonal event. But make sure your wallet has some green in it -- because the party-throwers are being charged by the CFDA for use of the big tent: There's a $20 cover at the door and a cash bar.
