NEW YORK — Scott Tepper has left his post as fashion director and divisional merchandise manager at Henri Bendel.
Anthony Hebron, a spokesman for Limited Brands, which owns Bendel's, confirmed that Tepper, is no longer with the company.
"Over the past few years, we've been prepping that brand [Henri Bendel] for expansion," Hebron said. "We're trying to get the right talent in place."
To that end, he said Bendel's created the job of general merchandise manager of beauty and hired Claudia Lucas last year. Lucas, who had been with Selfridges, also holds the title of senior vice president.
The company now wants to create an equivalent position on the apparel side. "We're upgrading the position to general merchandising manager," Hebron said, referring to Tepper's job.
Separately, the company is looking for a fashion director.
Tepper joined Bendel's in March 2003 as an accessories buyer for belts, scarves, hair accessories and sunglasses. He took on the role of fashion director when Anna Garner left Bendel's to return in October 2003.
Before joining Bendel's, Tepper was a gmm for Villa Moda, a luxury emporium in Kuwait. He had been an associate editor at Mirabella magazine prior to that.
