OPEN SEASON: With the U.S. Open set to bow Monday, several top pros will be appearing around New York endorsing their sponsor’s brands at special events.
Lindsay Davenport, Daniela Hantuchova, Andre Agassi and Lleyton Hewitt will be among the players in a NikeTown fashion show Friday afternoon in Manhattan. Fila-sponsored Jennifer Capriati and Kim Clijsters will be signing autographs at The Sports Authority at 51st Street, and Serena Williams will show off her Open attire at Puma’s SoHo store that same day.
JUST ADD SNOW: Last week’s heat wave didn’t deter Bogner America from piling sweaters and ski attire on two wilting models to photograph them for its fall marketing campaign.
Jordan Doner shot a ski jacket with embroidered roses and some of the brand’s other best-selling items in the U.S., based on early fall bookings. The photos will be used for direct-mail pieces, local advertising and point-of-sale material.
Unaware until the shoot that Bogner also produces Fire and Ice snowboard-inspired looks, Doner said his Fire and Ice bounty is stashed in a Paris basement, his first stop whenever he is en route to snowboard overseas.
"I never put the two brands together," he said. But Bogner told him that was their intention and will soon do some cross-marketing.
