Sales at the boutique — the site of the party — are projected at $600,000, even with last year.
The big growth, however, is expected to be in Schoenfeld’s wholesale business, which is aiming for a 50 percent surge in 1994 to about $2 million, according to Tricia Mattil, vice president at Brenda Schoenfeld. The optimism stems from the popularity of sterling silver, Schoenfeld’s medium, in the accessories market, Mattil said.
At the party, Schoenfeld credited her infant son, Diego, as the inspiration for much of her newfound creativity.
“The shiny pendant on silver and gold matte cording is one of my main themes for summer,” explained Schoenfeld. Wholesale prices range from $12 to $60.
Other summer styles include rings, charm cuffs and bracelets, belt buckles, earrings and chokers, rendered in smooth, embellished and oxidized sterling. Wholesale prices go from $14 for a ring to $200 for a belt buckle.
For fall, Schoenfeld plans to move away from oxidized silver and explore other finishes.
Schoenfeld counts as clients about 1,200 department and specialty stores, and she is represented at wholesale markets in New York, Dallas, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Denver and Miami.
